  • The mentorship program through gunnisonmentors.com is a wonderful resource in our community for all youth, and may be especially useful for those who are isolating, struggling to connect with family or peers, or simply needing a new connection.

  • Both Gunnison and Crested Butte schools have school based therapists in their buildings. Sessions can be arranged through the school for 6th graders and up.

  • Exploration Kids is a multifaceted program in Gunnison that accepts insurance. They offer occupational therapy, social skills groups, feeding therapy, parent and guardian support, as well as Autism Spectrum related evaluations and support. https://www.explorationtherapy.com/

  • Youth Wellness offers four free therapy sessions for teens 12-18. Contact the YW coordinator at youthwellness@gunnisoncounty.org

  • CB State of Mind offers 10 free therapy sessions for those who financially qualify. They have a variety of therapists that work with their program. More information can be found at cbstateofmind.org

  • Project Hope offers support for those impacted by domestic violence. Free therapy, group sessions, and other resources are available. More information can be found at hope4gv.org or call their 24-hour crisis line at (970) 275-1193. These calls are anonymous.

  • helpingsurvivors.org is a national website dedicated to helping those who are victims of sexual abuse and assault.

  • Psychologytoday.com offers a comprehensive list of active therapists, both in-person and virtual. You can use this search engine to specify insurance accepted, specialties and availability.

  • If you have insurance call them to better understand your out-of-network mental health service benefits, or get a list of therapists in the state of Colorado from them that accept your insurance.
